Plan for a small cottage garden in Old Lyme, CT in an “association” of seasonal cottages that run down to Long Island Sound. Hardiness Zone 6b

I was asked to come up with ideas to develop an overgrown, pre-existing 22′ x 24′ garden but not disturb the established raspberry, blueberry and rose bushes. The shrubs and perennials needed to be both drought- and deer-resistant.
